Kidney is the major excretory organ and it’s function includes
maintainence of the acid-base, fluid and electrolyte balance,
formation of normal urine, selective absorption. The kidney function
test is carryout to get valuable information about the status of kidney
function. It is equally important to assess the nature and extent of
the dysfunction. Kidney function test, in general, can be affected by
pre-renal, or post-renal causes.
The renal function test may be grouped into those, which measure
glomerular filtration rate, and those, which study tubular function,
