SPAN Diagnostics Limited has entered in to several partnerships with leading Institutes in India and abroad for development of in vitro diagnostic products and assay kits appropriate for the emerging diagnostic markets. The premier Indian Institutes with whom SPAN has established partnerships include All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Delhi for development of rapid antibody detection assay for leishmaniasis, Anna University, Chennai for development of rapid antibody detection assay for Filariasis, Indian Institute of Science, (IISc) Bangalore to develop hybridoma clones against tumor markers and malarial antigens and Delhi University, South Campus, Delhi for development of rapid assays for Tuberculosis and HIV.In addition, SPAN also obtained rights overseas from number of Institutes that include Institut Pasteur, Paris, France for the development of tests for Cholera, Plague and Blood grouping, Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), USA for development of assay for HIV and Malaria and with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, USA for development of Rapid assay and ELISA for Syphilis. Under the terms of the agreement, these Institutes licensed and transferred the technologies developed by them to SPAN for development and manufacturing of respective in vitro diagnostic products and assay kits. Recently, SPAN has also signed an agreement with Agarkar Institute, Pune India, to collaborate in development of Nanotechnology-based in vitro diagnostic assays for various plant and animal viruses.
